Originating in Scotland Howco is a global material supply and manufacturing business. Our origins are as a subcontract manufacturer to tier 1 contractors who operate in the worldwide Oil and Gas sector. Through a programme of diversification we are transitioning our skill set to focus on manufacturing for all energy sectors. Howco has the capability to provide a full turn-key manufacturing solutions: From simple mechanical components and assemblies to complex integrated systems. We can also provide a fully integrated reverse engineering capability that includes material evaluation, scope and selections and supply to design and drawing issue. Supported by our parent company The Sumitomo Corporation we have the resource to invest in modern, technically superior assets which provide the latest manufacturing capability. Howco subcontract manufacturing provides the following capacity for manufacture of Hub Casting/Machining, Gears, Shafts, NDT, Hydraulic Pitch Actuation and Assembly.

Machining Extensive CNC machining capability from 2 to multi axis machining. We specialise but are not confined to high precision low volume manufacturing in specialist alloys and exotics.

Fabrication. Our precision fabrication division has extensive capacity for welding and fabrication of simple jigs and fixtures to complex structures and assemblies. Welders are qualified with further approvals being available.

Heat Treatment.  Heat treatment is available to meet a variety of both internationally recognised and customer standards.

Cladding and Overlay    Weld overlay cladding provides protection against corrosion and wear for process and pipeline equipment. The weld clad process can be applied to extend the service life of new parts, or refurbish parts that have corroded or worn surfaces

Pressure Testing  Hydrostatic and Gas testing to a maximum of 40,000 psi with data recording for real time event interrogation and certification.

Coating and Finishing Extensive range of coating and finishing from Metallic/Non Metallic shot blasting to finish coating.

Inspection & Quality  Due to the demands of the areas that we operate in we provide the most comprehensive inspection and quality control facility that is supported by a full range of Metallurgy and NDT equipment and qualified personnel. All manufactured parts are inspected for compliance at both the in-process and completion stage.

Assembly Simple or complex final assembly and build incorporating electrical systems and hydraulics.

Design & Engineering Through a close working association with our partners we have capability for FEED (Front End Engineering and Design) and can provide full turnkey design and engineering services for new products and their development.
