Paul Burwood founded Sales And Marketing Advisory LLP in 2008 to help organisations accelerate their organic sales growth. The Initial focus was on improving both the efficiency and effectiveness of the Sales, Business Development and Marketing functions to ensure companies meet or exceed targets. With time it he was asked to become involved in wider facets of the organisation that need to be aligned beyond sales and marketing to ensure growth is sustainable. He subsequently found himself working in change management situations ensuring that the back-end (value creation) part of a company is aligned with the front-end (sales and marketing) as the company transitions through its growth curve.
He has successfully helped companies in multiple industries accelerate start-up growth, scale for growth in early stage and mid-cap. sized companies and turned around later stage organisations where the growth had stalled.
Paul focuses on business-to-business sectors and has worked in the technology sector (hardware, software and solutions), professional and business services, industrial manufacturing, water utilities, energy (oil & gas + renewables + smart energy), multiple offshore engineering / oilfield services companies and asset finance. He has worked with listed companies as well as many private equity owned business, including those owned by KKR, IK Investments, Foresight Group, First Reserve, Coller Capital, Carlyle and Forward One.
During his career prior to SAMA, Paul worked at HP, Sony, Motorola, EY, Intertek Group PLC and Acteon Group Ltd.
