It is in these hostile and problematic environments that high-performance coatings are critical for viable operations!
Monitor boasts a comprehensive range of products relating to surface engineering, including a unique combination of high velocity coatings combined with inorganic sealants, to enhance the coating characteristics. It also offers a plasma coating facility, and a large range of ceramic coatings, including thermal barrier coatings which constitute specialist applications for a range of industries. With one of the largest Low Pressure Plasma Spraying (LPPS) facilities in Europe, MCL endeavor to provide that sustainable, durable equipment which significantly reduces costs, minimising the environmental impact.
Monitor Coatings’ Research and Development team are at the forefront of scientific research with the intent to develop state-of-the-art technology, generate leading processes and to continue at the forefront of technological development; further strengthening technologies and services to the market. In pursuit, MCL participate in UK and EU funded collaboration projects, as well as invaluable links with universities, academic institutions and centres of excellence in the chosen field.
Monitor Coatings has earned its market position and reputation on high performance technology solutions, operating to the highest quality standards, including ISO 9001:2015, AS/EN9100 REV D and NADCAP ((National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program).
It has likewise, earned enviable customer approvals from household names such as:
Rolls-Royce, Bombardier Aero, Halliburton, TATA, Siemens, BAE Systems, Babcock, Thales, Ministry of Defence, British Royal Navy, Weatherford, Danieli, British Steel, Total Steel Production, ABB and Esterline.
Monitor are well known for winning the prestigious contract to develop and deliver an anti-skid, thermal wash resistant deck coating for the HMS Queen Elizabeth and Prince of Wales that would withstand the aero thermal environment and gas wash exhaust when conducting a hover transition and vertical landing. In the case of STOVL (Short Take off Vertical Landing) aircraft, traditional paint systems are no longer capable of meeting the extreme environments experienced on the surface of the aircraft carrier deck. As a result, Monitor Coatings developed an ultra-dense, high wear-resistant coatings based on a novel thermal spray and densification process, developing high-tech processes that offer ultimate protection. Technology that prolongs the life and provides sustainable, durable equipment to the market, thereby significantly reducing costs and minimizing the environmental impact.
