Tracerco secures contract to supply profilers to Scarborough gas field

Posted on 21 November 2022

One of the world’s leading providers of nucleonic instruments - Tracerco - has secured a multi-million contract to deliver its Profiler technology on the Scarborough Gas Field located in the Indian Ocean, on the West Coast of Australia.

Awarded by global energy company, Australian Woodside Energy – sole owner of the Scarborough Gas Field - the contract will see Tracerco deliver several hundred Profiler™ TGAs that will support the Woodside Energy business in its energy transition from fossil fuel reliance and to support those countries lacking access to affordable and reliable energy.

Tracerco - based in Billingham and with offices across the globe – has already worked on the Scarborough Gas Field – where it has previously delivered Profiler™ TGA’s to the Pluto 2 Terminal which receives gas directly from the field.

Tracerco’s unique instrumentation technology provides extremely reliable liquid level and interface measurements for alkylation units and other harsh service environments.

The Profiler™ TGA is specifically designed to measure the vertical distribution of multiple interfaces in real time and at high resolution. Extremely reliable and offering low maintenance benefits, the Profiler™ TGA will reduce the possibility of acid runaway, increase production throughput, whilst also optimising acid recirculation.

Speaking about the contract win, Graham Barker, Global Product and Service Delivery Manager at Tracerco said: “Being awarded a contract win of this value – and on a project we have already worked on, previously providing the same instrumentation is testimony to the capabilities of our nucleonic instruments offer.

“We are delighted to support Woodside Energy on its journey to becoming a greener company. To date we have provided 720 Profilers and already 187 of these, approximately 25%, have been deployed on their floating installations.

“Further securing contracts in this region demonstrates Tracerco’s global capabilities and deploying our technologies on well-known developments such as this further strengthens our position as world leaders in nucleonic instrumentation and boosts our already impressive global portfolio.”

Tracerco is a global oil and gas service company with over 60 years’ experience. With offices located across the world, the company is well recognised for delivering innovative technologies enabling its customers make informed decisions.
