RS Industrial Services Crowned Tees Business of the Year
Posted on 22 April 2025

Teesside-based RS Industrial Services - a leading independent supplier of cranes and lifting solutions, industrial and safety supplies, and accredited industrial training - has been recognised and awarded Business of the Year at the third annual Tees Business Awards.
The awards, held at Hardwick Hall Hotel on Thursday evening (April 10), welcomed more than 350 guests to celebrate the best of innovation in Teesside and raise funds towards Teesside Hospice.
RS Industrial Services received the award in recognition of the positive investment it has made in people, equipment, systems and facilities, to ensure it remains best-in-class. The investment was launched under new leadership following a management buyout in December 2023 and has meant the company has been able to recruit additional engineering resource, develop its employees through initiatives such as the delivery of dedicated IOSH training and advanced management development programmes. The company has also entered a partnership with Middlesbrough College, to sponsor two engineering students as part of a scholarship programme.
At the end of 2024 the company successfully launched a new ERP system which is supporting its drive towards Net Zero by removing legacy systems and paperwork. This change has improved operational efficiency for RS Industrial Services’ customers, resulting in improved order processing and data visibility.
Further investments have also been made in its fleet and equipment – with six new scissor lifts being purchased to enable the company to improve customer response times.
Mark Cawley, CEO at RS Industrial Services commented on the award win: “Firstly, to have been nominated felt like a massive achievement and to walk away with the win I’m utterly beyond words.
“It really means so much to me personally as following the management buyout it was my mission to really drive the business forward and we’re doing that. This award is great external recognition.
“I’d like to take the opportunity to thank the efforts of our incredibly hardworking team who over that last 12-months especially have gone through a number of changes and have continued to deliver excellent results to our customers.”
Headquartered in Billingham with an additional service centre in Gateshead, RS Industrial Services’ comprehensive offering spans three key areas, Cranes & Lifting Services; Training & Development; and Industrial & Safety Supplies.
