NRL help Newcastle University engineering students gain a bridge into industry

NRL's Teesside and Sunderland Recruitment Branch Manager Emma Lowden joined Team Leader Lisa Jackson for a morning at Newcastle University this week.

The pair talked to engineering students as part of a module to help them build a bridge into the industry.

Drawing on their recruitment expertise, the pair delivered a hands-on lecture to explain the role of LinkedIn for job hunting, and shared advice for building on strong online presence to help support their job applications and build a personal network. Before sitting with students to help them set-up their LinkedIn profiles.

It follows a visit to the university earlier in the year, when members of NRL’s Recruitment team met with students and offered career advice - in line with the business' commitment to support STEM students as they begin to consider their careers.
