NOF, the UK business development membership organisation for the energy sector has appointed two new team members to support increased activity and commitment to delivering its renowned high-quality services to members, partners and the wider network.

The national membership organisation based in Durham, North East England has recruited Elle Somerville who joins as Business Development Executive and Caroline Palmer who has been appointed as Business Administrator.

Working closely with Caroline Lofthouse, Director Business Development, Elle will support supply chain engagement activities with members, partners and clients across the energy industry.

Elle has recently graduated from the University of Sunderland with a Business Management degree after previously doing Business Studies at college. Her employment history has mainly been in retail and hospitality with this being her first post-graduate role.

Elle explained,“I’ve always loved the business side of an organisation, and seeing the behind the scenes of business.”

Elle is looking to develop her career in business development, supporting companies with their growth ambitions.

Elle said, “I’m super excited to be a part of the NOF team! It’s a great environment to be in, I’m constantly networking and leaning every day!”

Having worked for over 13 years in administration, in the education sector (predominantly in Primary Schools), Caroline joins the organisation with a wealth of experience, equipped to support both the membership and events administration activities. Caroline will work closely with Rebecca McGhin, Business Services Manager on membership support, and Kristie Leng, Events & Projects Manager on event support.

Caroline said,“I’m passionate about providing a high quality of services which I look forward to developing further in my new role as Business Administrator at NOF.

I’m delighted to have joined such a fabulous team who are dedicated to not only their roles, but the whole team. I feel lucky to work in such a welcoming company in my local area and am excited to see what opportunities lie ahead for me.

I’m also looking forward to gaining more industry knowledge as the energy sector is a new career path for me.”

Joanne Leng MBE, NOF Chief Executive added,“I’m proud to see NOF continue to grow and welcome the appointments of both Elle and Caroline. They are joining the NOF team at a very exciting and busy time. They bring with them their own areas of expertise and both bring a passion to be involved in a dynamic organisation which has its member at the heart of everything it does. These appointments follow on from the recent announcement of Hannah Smiles being promoted to the Energi Coast Cluster Development Executive role demonstrating NOF’s commitment to bringing graduates into the industry, providing hands on training and developing the necessary skills which ultimately support our network of members.”
