Kinewell Energy - New-to-market solution launched!
Posted on 10 May 2023

Kinewell Energy are happy to share with you a groundbreaking new innovation that we are announcing today to the market! If you'd like to learn more, you can meet with us in-person over the next few days at the All-Energy conference in Glasgow (10-11 May 2023) and VentureFest in Newcastle (10 May 2023).
New-to-market solution: Estimating the probable placement of inter-array cables leading to reduced seabed surveying costs
The new-to-market KLOC probabilistic heatmapping solution allows developers to swiftly identify which areas of a seabed require detailed surveying despite the early project uncertainties that exist when surveying takes place.
This enables developers to survey less of the site whilst still focusing on the most important areas where inter array cable is most likely to be laid. Seabed surveys start around five years before construction and cost £8m for a 1 GW offshore wind
farm. Through using KLOCs probabilistic heatmapping software, developers can reduce project costs and lead times by eliminating the need to survey undevelopable seabed.
We have already deployed the KLOC probabilistic heatmap solution to over 6.5 GW of offshore wind projects including three global energy giants, and today we are excited to announce this new innovation to the wider market.
Don't miss the opportunity for this groundbreaking new solution to reduce the cost and development time of your project - reach out to our BDM, Hamza Sajid to learn more.
Meet us at All-Energy in Glasgow, 10-11 May 2023
Kinewell Energy Data Scientist and Optimisation Specialist, Dylan Jones, will be speaking at the All-Energy conference in Glasgow as part of the Climatetech innovation quickfire pitches in Hall 1 (opposite the exhibition Hall 4) between 12:00 and 13:30 on Wednesday 10 May 2023. He will be speaking about our InnovateUK funded FastStart project which is applying our unique optimisation algorithms to the question of where to place offshore wind turbines to maximise energy yield and project revenues while minimising wake effects. Our unique algorithms vastly reduce calculation times and provide the industry with a much needed productivity boost.
On Thursday, we will also be exhibiting as part of the InnovateUK stand (L60 in Hall 4) at the All-Energy conference in Glasgow.
If you'd like to meet with us, please come along to the Climatetech innovation quickfire pitches in Hall 1 on Wednesday between 12:00 and 13:00 or visit the InnovateUK stand (L60 in Hall 4) on Thursday.
Meet us at VentureFest in Newcastle, 10 May 2023
Once again for the second year running we are being recognised as one of the most innovative businesses within the North East of England by VentureFest.
We have been shortlisted for not one, not two, but three awards by VentureFest this year in the following categories:
- Digital Innovation of the Year
- Energy Innovation of the Year
- Sustainable Innovation of the Year
If you'd like to meet with us, please do come along to the event at The Boiler Shop in Newcastle. Click here to view the full programme of events for the day, where the North East Innovation Awards will be presented 15:15-16:15 immediately prior to a drinks reception.
