Going Global from Teesside Event

Monday 16th March 2026
9:30am - 11:30am
Teesside International Airport

We are delighted to invite you to Teesside International Airport to mark the departure of the first flight following a multi-million-pound investment by European Cargo.

This landmark agreement will see five weekly cargo flights depart from Teesside to China, delivering a significant boost to regional trade and strengthening global connectivity, with the potential for more routes to follow.

The event will take place from 9:30am to 11:30am on Monday, 16 March, in the airport’s departures terminal. You will hear from representatives of European Cargo, as well as Tees Valley Mayor, Ben Houchen, Phil Forster, Managing Director of Teesside International Airport and senior officials from the Institute of Export & International Trade.

Teesside is more than a gateway for holiday travel, our growing freight offer is central to the airport’s future and you’ll also hear from independent advisers on the importance of the airport to the region’s economic ambitions and how major deals like this have a positive impact on the whole region.

Come and find out how Teesside can help your business go global, and meet and network with local businesses and industry experts.
