Elisian: Permit to Work

Elisian have been supporting the energy sector since 2005 and we are proud to support such a critical industry in the UK and beyond.  As is the Elisian way, we have been listening to our customers and partners to ensure that our products evolve with the needs of the energy sector, resulting in another solution in support of safety with our Permit to Work product.

Purpose built to support the way you work with a high level of configuration to smooth the transition of adoption.

Our permit to work solution is an industry agnostic software product that is used to control types of work that are potentially hazardous across industries including oil & gas, chemicals, manufacturing, utilities, construction and facilities management, with capability including

·         Control high risk activities – this includes hot work (welding, cutting), electrical work, confined space entry, isolations, work at height or heavy lifting.

·         Manage authorisations – this ensures that the permits are required to be issued, reviewed and signed by a competent authority before work commences.

·         Manage hazards and controls – in doing so assures that those carrying out the work understand the risk and safety measures that are in place in support of the work.

·         Coordination of multiple activities – managing multiple job packs within the system ensures that conflicts are avoided when different jobs are in progress simultaneously.

·         Compliance – this is supported in providing a clear audit trail that shows permits were issued, risk assessed, isolations applied where appropriate and that the work was completed safely

Key features of the solution include

·         Electronic permits – Elisian’s interactive mapping feature allows users to see an overview of all permits in flight across an asset, these respective permits can be aware of one another to ensure safe implementation under a controlled environment.

·         Isolation management – An important aspect of permit to work is the ability to identify and isolate areas of an asset to ensure a safe working environment that is controlled in accordance with the permit and is in place to mitigate risk where possible.

·         Risk management – The management of risk is a key feature of the solution in that as risks are identified, their respective mitigation is encouraged to reduce the risk and address areas of concern related to the respective work.

·         Job packs – The job pack functionality supports the linking of multiple permits into one body of work so that those involved in the implementation of the respective permit are provided with awareness of the associated permits are work progresses.

·         Work scheduling – Scheduling the implementation of the permit with awareness of other permits, either inflight or pending, is a key feature of the solution and aids the users in planning and assuring safety around an asset.
