Eastgate Engineering has secured a major contract to provide a major package of works to support the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 Offshore Wind Farms, both of which are two of the most noteworthy renewable energy projects currently underway in the Baltic Sea.
This project further adds to Eastgate’s current position within the growing offshore wind industry and reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to developing sustainable energy solutions throughout not just the UK but Europe.
Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 are both situated 22-37km from the Polish coast near Łeba, and are being jointly developed by Equinor and Polenergia. Each windfarm will have a capacity of 720MW, making a joint total of 1,440MW supplied by 100 fixed-bottom turbines. This project, once finished, will provide renewable energy to a combined total of 2,000,000 homes.
These projects are part of Poland’s first wave of large-scale offshore wind development and will also act as a catalyst for the development of Poland’s offshore supply chain and workforce.
Eastgate Engineering has been contracted by Smulders to deliver this package of works due to the excellent partnership previously created from past projects. Smulders continued trust highlights Eastgate’s commitment to quality, safety and performance across all stages of project execution.
Having had a successful track record delivering other major renewable projects, such as the world’s largest offshore windfarm Dogger Bank, Eastgate Engineering has positioned itself as a market leader in providing end-to-end engineering and construction services to the global offshore wind industry.
“Eastgate’s involvement in Bałtyk 2 and 3 reflects our continued growth in offshore renewables and our commitment to supporting the global transition to clean energy,” said David Brennan, CEO of Eastgate Engineering. “We’re proud to bring our expertise, proven capabilities, and collaborative approach to this landmark project
