Charity is the winner on Cellular Solutions Golf Day

Sunderland-based business communications and systems specialist Cellular Solutions helped to raise £3000 for charity Changing Lives at the company annual Golf Day this month.
Guests from across the business community joined Cellular Solutions’ staff on July 10, at Close House Golf Club for the event, which featured a Japanese theme to celebrate this year’s Rugby World Cup in Japan.
The golfers took to the prestigious Lee Westwood Colt Course to play in a European Tour Pro-Am format – and helped Cellular Solutions raise money for Changing Lives, which provides specialist support for thousands of vulnerable people and their families across the UK.
Sunderland-based Cellular Solutions works with businesses to improve communications, operations and processes. The company provides communications and business systems – including mobile, landline, broadband, software and digital solutions – to companies ranging from start-ups and SMEs to large, multi-site organisations, supporting them at every stage of their business journeys.
Mike Bowers, Managing Director of Cellular Solutions, said: “We’d like to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who played at our Golf Day and helped us to raise money for Changing Lives, a charity which plays such an important role in helping to support vulnerable people in the community. Their work makes a big difference – and it’s important that they are supported by the business community through fundraising events such as this.
“I’m delighted that so many golfers from across the North East and beyond took on the challenges of the magnificent Colt Course and supported the event.
“I’d also like to thank Graham Wylie and the Close House team for helping to make the day really special for all of our guests and staff.”
Stephen Bell OBE, Chief Executive at Changing Lives, said: “We’re thrilled that Cellular Solutions raised £3000 for Changing Lives at their recent charity golf day. The funds raised will help us to continue supporting people right across the North East region and beyond facing challenges like homelessness, addiction, offending and mental health issues.
“Thanks to the generosity of corporate supporters like Cellular Solutions we are able to continue our life-changing work supporting over 17,000 people every year.”
Changing Lives helps more than 17,000 people change their lives for the better each year. It has around 100 projects in England staffed by 500 dedicated staff, supporting people experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, addictions, long-term unemployment and more.
