Work continues at pace

Once an offshore wind farm starts construction, it is a juggernaut of activity with one milestone arriving after
another as various teams accelerate their scopes of work. At the end of 2025, the first of the project’s mega monopiles was installed and less than six months later all 54 were in.
The final monopile installed by the team onboard vessel contractor Jan De Nul’s Les Alizés in early June.
Also in June, the laying of the three sections which make up the second export cable was completed. The offshore sections will be jointed next while work continues to connect the cable ends at both the onshore and offshore substations.

The Port of Leith has been a hive of activity with the arrival and offloading of all the foundation components,
and the completions activity to prepare the pieces to be installed offshore.

The focus will soon shift to the Port of Dundee as the site prepares for the arrival of the turbine components from late summer.

The giant jigsaw puzzle is being pieced together in what is a mammoth effort by Inch Cape team members
contractors, suppliers and with support from stakeholders and local communities.
