Eastgate Engineering has been named Tees Business of the Year 2026

Eastgate Engineering has been named Tees Business of the Year 2026, recognising the company’s outstanding growth, commitment to people, and continued investment in the Teesside region.

Founded by David Brennan in Waterford, Ireland, in 2007, Eastgate has evolved from its Irish beginnings into a nationally recognised engineering specialist. A defining moment came in 2015 with the establishment of its Head Office in Teesside, positioning the region at the heart of the company’s leadership and future ambition. While maintaining a strong operational base in Waterford supported by its Irish workforce, Eastgate now operates across the UK and Ireland with a team of 500 people, driving strategic growth from Teesside.

The Tees Business of the Year award celebrates Eastgate’s success since relocating its headquarters to the region, highlighting its investment in people, delivery of complex infrastructure projects, and its commitment to building a strong, values‑driven business.

Founder and CEO David Brennan said the award reflects both the strength of the Eastgate team and the role Teesside has played in the company’s evolution.

“This award is incredibly meaningful for us,” said David. “Eastgate was founded in Waterford, and that remains an important part of our business, but moving our head office to Teesside in 2015 was a defining moment. Teesside has become our home from a leadership and growth perspective. The talent, industrial heritage, and pride in workmanship here are second to none.”

Since establishing its Teesside headquarters, Eastgate Engineering has expanded significantly, supporting hundreds of jobs across the UK and building a reputation for delivering technically demanding, high‑risk engineering and infrastructure projects safely and with cost-certainty. The business continues to be underpinned by a strong ‘one team’ culture, promoting collaboration, accountability, and high standards at every level.

The award also recognises Eastgate’s long‑term commitment to developing skills and careers. Through investment in training, apprenticeships, and internal progression, the company continues to grow capability across both its UK and Irish operations, ensuring sustainable development as the business expands.

David Brennan added: “This recognition belongs to our people - across Teesside, Waterford, and every site we operate on. Our success comes from teams who care deeply about what they deliver and how they deliver it. Teesside has supported us since we moved here, and we are proud to contribute back as an employer and business within the region.”

Winning Tees Business of the Year reinforces Eastgate Engineering’s position as a leading business within the region and highlights the impact of companies that invest in people, operate with integrity, and grow with purpose.

Looking ahead, Eastgate remains committed to strengthening its Teesside headquarters, supporting its workforce on both sides of the Irish Sea, and delivering engineering excellence at scale.
