£300m Great British Energy Supply Chain Fund: Offshore Wind and Networks
Posted on 02 October 2026
We are pleased to share important updates to our £300m Great British Energy Supply Chain Fund: Offshore Wind and Networks, including a significant expansion of eligible components and publication of updated scheme Guidance. Round 4 is now open for applications until 10 December 2026 (17:00 UK GMT), following the closure of Round 3 on 30 September.
Expanded eligibility: 12 to 29 components
We have expanded the Fund's eligible critical components list from 12 to 29 components, reflecting the latest evidence and market intelligence on critical and constrained components across the offshore wind and electricity networks sectors.
This expansion supports Great British Energy's ambition to strengthen UK manufacturing capability and reach deeper into the supply chain, enabling a wider range of manufacturers to access funding.
The 17 additional components include jackets, HVAC substations, specific drivetrain components within the nacelle, and a number of electricity network components needed in the offshore wind and network supply chains.
The full list of eligible components is available in Table 2 of the updated Fund Guidance, and below. Please note that components must be purposed for the relevant Component Family and Sector specified in Table 2 to be eligible under the Fund.

Further opportunities to shape our eligible list
Our eligible components list remains live, and we welcome further evidence from manufacturers, trade bodies and other industry stakeholders on additional components that could benefit from support. We encourage organisations to submit proposals by downloading our Additional Critical Components submission form, available on the Fund webpage. Submissions will help inform our ongoing assessment of critical supply chain constraints and potential future expansions to the Fund.
Updated Fund Guidance
Alongside the expanded eligibility list, we have published updated Guidance which includes:
- Further detail on grant intensity and the proportion of eligible project costs that may be funded.
- Clarification that evidence requirements should be proportionate to the size, complexity and nature of the project.
- Updated component descriptions and FAQs.
The full list of changes is available at the start of the updated Guidance document. We encourage existing and prospective applicants to familiarise themselves with these updates.
Next steps
- We encourage manufacturers who may now be eligible to review the updated Guidance and consider applying before the Round 4 deadline of 10 December 2026 (17:00 UK GMT). The Fund webpage provides access to the application portal and supporting materials.
- Please do share this update with relevant organisations, members and industry partners who may be interested in applying or contributing further evidence.
