Advance Northumberland is the economic regeneration company for Northumberland, driving inward investment and supporting the renewable energy sector in the county to thrive. We’re a proud partner of Energy Central, a dynamic partnership comprising Northumberland County Council, ORE Catapult and Port of Blyth, which supports the renewable energy sector in Northumberland to flourish through its world class research, development and test facilities, premier port services, development land, industrial and office opportunities and investment in STEM facilities.

Northumberland is home to:

• Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, the new The Digital, Autonomous and Robotics Engineering (DARE) Centre and the Technology Development Centre which is coming soon to Blyth. 

• JDR Cables who are building a new £130m state-of-the-art subsea cable manufacturing facility at Northumberland Energy Park 

• RWE who have chosen Port of Blyth as their construction base for Sofia Wind Farm, Dogger Bank 

• Energy Central Learning Hub, a new training facility focused on green skills
