NOF appoints new Board Director

NOF, the national energy sector membership organisation, has strengthened its board with the appointment of Elizabeth Waterman.

Elizabeth, who is Principal Engineer at engineering consultancy PDL Solutions, will be adding her expertise to NOF’s 11-strong board of executive directors and non-executive directors.

Based in Durham, North East England, NOF works with organisations of all sizes across the energy industry supply chain, including offshore wind, hydrogen, carbon capture & storage (CCS), nuclear and oil and gas. The organisation has a 35-year history of supporting businesses in the energy sector and regularly connects suppliers to major developers, operators and tier one contractors, to support their energy projects.

Elizabeth, who joined PDL in 2011 is based at its Hexham office. She holds a MEng (Hons) degree from Durham University, and is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). She is highly experienced in providing advanced engineering design and analysis services for safety-critical and technically challenging projects for multinational clients.

In 2017, she was named in the Women’s Engineering Society’s Top 50 Women in Engineering Under 35 list in association with The Telegraph.

As well as being an engineer, Elizabeth has a business development role in PDL’s advanced engineering analysis consultancy services, using a wide range of toolsets including finite element analysis (FEA); computational fluid dynamics (CFD); global dynamic analysis (Orcaflex); structural calculations; pipe stress analysis; linear elastic fracture mechanics and MAXIM engineering software services to deliver their clients a world class solution. Which PDL apply in industries such as oil and gas, renewables, nuclear, hydrogen and CCS. She also mentors colleagues through PDL’s Monitored Professional Development Scheme (MPDS) and is a STEM ambassador for the company.

Commenting on her appointment to the NOF board, Elizabeth Waterman said:
