We’re absolutely delighted to tell you that we were awarded the prestigious Centre Award at the Royal Television Society North East & Border Awards 2022. This was the first in person awards post-lockdown and it was great to be back amongst friends in the industry.
The Centre Award is an award highlighting individuals or organisations who’ve contributed to shaping broadcasting, production or technical sectors in the North East and Border region. This time the focus was over the past two years – which as we all know has been incredibly challenging for the sector.
We were commended for our graduate recruitment, our founders energy and our commitment to cinematic quality in our films. Our new facility in Middlesbrough for our own filmmaking and the ability to support the growing productions in the North East also played a large part.
This is a big achievement for Ithica, there’s a lot to be really positive around as we move out of the pandemic. We’re working a lot on our acquisition to delivery workflow and our production slate is filled with interesting and challenging films to make.
We hope to work more with the RTS this year – all our film team practitioners are members, as well as starting to welcome back new entrants to the industry through our links with education – particularly the Northern School of Art where I am a Visiting Fellow.
I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank the RTS for this award, it’s a real privilege to receive something like this and I’m still lost for words around what this means to me. I’ve worked in the industry since 2005 and as Ithica moves into this new chapter I’m really excited about what we can achieve from here. A big thank you to the team here and to our clients who really put so much trust in us to produce films that matter to them.
