The Transition to NET-ZERO in the North of England
How can the North transition to a net-zero economy by itself, and how can net-zero technologies create jobs in the North?
This event is aimed at showing members of the public, policy makers and an academic audience what is on offer, what can be done and what is being done, here in the North.
The North of England has fantastic resources which can contribute to the UKs net-zero ambitions. This conference will showcase the exciting innovations and demonstrators the region has already developed and the opportunities that the Net-Zero Transition presents for creating green jobs and levelling-up regional inequalities. The history of mining in the North of England, and its role as an engine of growth in the Industrial revolution, is now the foundation for a new low-carbon era with exciting Northern innovations and developments in offshore wind, hydrogen, CCS, and geothermal energy.
Keynote speech by the Rt Honourable Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP, Minister of State for Business, Energy and Clean Growth & UK International Champion on Adaptation and Resilience for the COP26 Presidency.
Registration for this free event is essential for Zoom capacity. Please visit our EventBrite page to register for this event.
