The Port of Blyth's popular Annual Community Photography Competition for 2020 has been won by local amateur photographer Richard Turnbull for his beautiful image ‘Setting Sail’.
The competition welcomes entries from all members of the community and aims to celebrate both views of the river and the work that takes place on it as well as the stunning coastline around Blyth. Twelve photographs were shortlisted as finalists before the winner was selected.
Port of Blyth’s Chief Executive, Martin Lawlor, said: “In a year like no other, the competition is a great opportunity for us to celebrate both the activities of the port and the town itself. Again we received a record number of entries and the standard this year has been superb. Congratulations to Richard for his brilliant winning image and to all the finalists, and thank you to everyone who entered.”
Richard will receive £100 in Amazon vouchers and a bottle of bubbly while fellow finalists will also receive a prize and see their entries celebrated online.
