WINNER! Port of Blyth judges popular community photography competition

The Port of Blyth's popular Annual Community Photography Competition for 2021 has been won by local amateur photographer Ron Dobson’s image Working Boats.

The competition welcomes entries from all members of the community and aims to celebrate both views of the river and the work that takes place on it as well as the stunning coastline around Blyth. Twelve photographs were shortlisted as finalists before the winner was selected.

Port of Blyth’s Chief Executive, Martin Lawlor, said: “As it is every year, the photography competition has been a great opportunity for us to celebrate both the activities of the port and the town itself. The standard of entries has been superb and we're delighted that the Community Calendar featuring all twelve finalists will return after COVID safety concerns meant we didn’t print a version for 2021. Thank you everyone who entered and congratulations to Ron for his lovely winning image.”

Ron will receive £100 in Amazon vouchers, a bottle of bubbly and pride of place on the cover of the Community Calendar, while his fellow finalists will also receive a prize and see their entries celebrated online.

Entries are now open for the 2022 competition. To enter simply visit https://portofblyth.co.uk/stakeholder-overview/photo-competition.
