A breakthrough super-austenitic alloy from Sandvik is here! Introducing Sanicro® 35, a high-performance alternative to conventional materials. With 6.5% molybdenum, optimal mechanical yield strength, and superior anticorrosion properties, the new alloy has a chemical composition of 27Cr-35Ni-6.5Mo-0.28N and a pitting resistance equivalent (PRE) number of minimum 52, suggesting high resistance toward chloride-induced corrosion. In laboratory testing, the grade has resisted both pitting and crevice corrosion. Designed for corrosive environments and seawater applications, Sanicro® 35 bridges the gap between standard duplex/austenitic grades and costly nickel alloys.
