MTE Secures Contract to Deliver Heat Shields to the Johan Sverdrup Project

MTE has recently secured a new contract with Aibel to supply our stainless-steel Heat Shield products. MTE’s high-quality Heat Shields are being produced at MTE’s North East facility in Darlington and will be delivered to the Johan Sverdrup project.

Johan Sverdrup offshore development is located within the Norwegian North Sea and considered to be one of the largest oil fields in the Norwegian continental shelf. With expected resources of 2.7 billion barrels of oil, the production life of the project is expected to be 50 years.

Historically Johan Sverdrup has been one of MTE’s largest projects – in 2016 MTE secured a framework agreement with Equinor (Statoil) to supply prefabricated cladding system to three of the four topside. MTE is pleased to be supplying into this major oil field and continues to secure additional scope.

Our Heat Shield products are designed by our specialist design engineering team and will provide protection against the effects of radiant heat and adverse environmental conditions on the Johan Sverdrup oil & gas platform.
