In response to Covid-19, one North East business has opened up its leading online labour platform – completely free of charge – to enable major oil and gas and renewables projects to continue to operate with the right people during such unprecedented times.
Based in Darlington, BuildStream is launching its first of a kind automated recruitment platform which is designed to help its client’s source fully qualified and vetted workers, easily and quickly, and most importantly, without hefty recruitment costs.
And now, to help manage the impact of Covid-19, BuildStream is encouraging general contractors and subcontractors, as well as internal and external recruiters and service providers operating within infrastructure construction and maintenance to utilise its sophisticated platform for free.
Speaking about the current offer, Terry Clarke, Co-founder of BuildStream said: “We understand that there has been severe disruption for all oil and gas and renewables projects, with many experiencing shutdowns or operating with skeleton staff.
“To enable essential services to continue to operate in a safe manner and, in preparation for the upturn once restrictions are further eased, we know how important it will be for our clients to have the right workers, available and ready to start.
“To ease the recruitment process – which can often be arduous in itself – we have developed a digital platform that does exactly that.
“And during such difficult times - as companies look to implement digital solutions to streamline and maintain operations – it is only right that we play our role in helping businesses to keep their wheels turning, and help people get back into suitable job roles, through offering our unique services for free.”
Once signed up, clients can post roles to the platform, and Buildstream’s highly sophisticated proprietary algorithms will automatically send clients a pool of tailored matches – fully vetted and qualified – available in the company’s fast-growing and extensive network.
The business uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) support as part of its robust vetting process of job seekers, including checking all certification and insurance checks.
Offering complete flexibility, clients can either engage with job seekers directly or execute contracts through Buildstream.
Terry said: “Through using our platform, our clients can save a significant amount of time and money, eliminating the need to trawl through job boards and LinkedIn, as well as carrying out further vetting. We also take care of timesheets, and can consolidate invoicing, bringing everything into one digital solution that scales really well across large teams and multiple projects”
“We have a high calibre of contractors with our platform attracting the very best industry talent, and what’s more, we don’t take commission fees. This means both our clients and contractors are financially better off.”
BuildStream’s free offer will be available for new and existing clients until 14th June 2020, and the offer is limited to the first 20 companies.
Established in 2019, BuildStream offers a platform designed exclusively for recruitment within the oil and gas and renewables industry. Backed by major investors including BMW and Y-Combinator, the company recently secured a place in the prestigious Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult’s industry-backed regional cleantech accelerator programme.
