Newton Aycliffe, UK - 10 August 2020: Tekmar Group plc, a leading provider of technology and services to the global offshore energy markets is delighted to share its suite of solutions for floating wind.
Floating wind is widely recognised as the next big wave in the renewable energy revolution with a market outlook of 16.7 GW by 2030, a figure which is set to increase as larger-scale developments come online. The fast-maturing technology can be deployed almost anywhere in water depths greater than 60 meters, which conveniently is where the world’s best wind resource is found.
With deeper water come greater challenges in terms of deploying and protecting complex subsea infrastructure, a challenge that Tekmar Group is well-positioned to embrace.
Tekmar Group has over 35 years of offshore energy experience and all its Group companies are already active in the floating wind market, having delivered innovative solutions to several floating wind projects around the world. Together, the Group has developed a suite of technologies and services that will de-risk, protect and ultimately reduce the cost of floating wind developments during planning, installation, and in-situ operation. These solutions have been developed and proven in the offshore energy sector where the Group already protects over 24GW of fixed offshore wind infrastructure.
Tekmar Group offers customers a turnkey solution from initial engineering design and analysis, through to the design and build of bespoke installation equipment, manufacture and supply of subsea asset protection and stabilisation solutions.
Alasdair MacDonald, Executive Chairman of Tekmar Group said: ‘It’s great to see Tekmar Group companies combining their complementary resources to deliver holistic solutions to this exciting and emerging market. Working together Tekmar Group are providing innovative solutions that will enable to sector to mature”
