Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) and Scottish Enterprise (SE) are running a series of roadshows to give local companies the opportunity to learn more about the new DeepWind Offshore Wind cluster which will cover the Highlands and Islands area as well as Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. This is part of the UK’s £250m Offshore Wind Sector Deal and is one of eight such clusters across the UK. HIE and SE are running a road show in Peterhead and Aberdeen on the 17th of May which will include sessions on the aims and purpose of the cluster and how to join.
Companies already working in offshore wind, as well as those operating in other sectors such as oil and gas, engineering, digital data, aerospace, defence and nuclear, are welcome.
The project is looking to involve companies in supply chain development, innovation and infrastructure development across the whole of the cluster area and is focused on the £7bn of offshore wind projects in the Moray Firth. It also focuses on the future opportunity related to the next offshore leasing round in Scotland which kicks off in October this year.
