DEI’s headline remit throughout the ten years since its foundation has been ‘science and society’. DEI promotes world leading science, social science, humanities and engineering, and brings them together to develop synergies wherever they are found. DEI has been the leading truly interdisciplinary energy research institute in the UK, if not internationally. Today we celebrate ten years of bringing people together, and thinking differently about energy. Registration is essential for catering purposes via EventBrite.

The morning session will include a panel on Energy Matters & Energy Concerns as well as a showcase of four DEI projects and impact.

The Keynote speech will be given by Brent Cheshire, the former Country Chairman of Ørsted and Durham Alumni.

The afternoon sessions include breakout workshops and the 3MT competition.

The photography competition is open to anyone, and prizes of Amazon vouchers worth £250, £150 and £75 will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. The theme for this years photography competition is 'Energy & Society'. Each symposium delegate will receive a voting slip on registration.
