Houlder - Wind Turbine Seafastening Design

Houlder has been awarded a significant contract to provide sea-fastening design services for the Northwester 2 (NW2) wind farm construction campaign.

The NW2 offshore windfarm will be located 35 miles north of the port of Zeebrugge in 40m of water depth.

It will generate 219 MW, enough power for over 155,000 households using the largest and most powerful wind turbines currently available, MHI Vestas Offshore Wind’s V164-9.5MW with a rotor diameter of 164m.

Our design deliverables include nacelle and tower fastenings, blade racks, grillages and auxiliary structures. Houlder will also provide all required analysis of existing ship deck structure, detailed load analyses and hotspot checks.  Our client will receive all the required structural validation reports, fatigue analysis reports, electrical and lighting arrangements, lifting and access arrangements, 3D models and fabrication drawings.
